Push Notifications are a powerful way to connect with your users. Once your app is installed on a user's device, you have the opportunity to PUSH messages directly to their notification screen, even if your app is closed (installed, but not currently running on their device).
You'll have experienced Push Notifications on your own devices when apps such as FaceBook or YouTube pop up with new content, such as someones birthday, even if you're doing something else. You have the same opportunity with your own app. |
1. Ensure you have Push Notifications enabled in your subscription.
2. Create one or more topics for your notifications:
Users are able to select/de-select which topics they would like to receive notifications on. By default, they will receive all topics, and they can customise this in the Settings Menu item in your app. |
3. Send your First Push Notification:
Decide whether you'd like to Send Now, or schedule your Push Notification.
You can see how many devices received a notification by going to Manage and finding Notifications. When you click a Notification, you can see its statistics.
You can change a scheduled notification by going to Manage and finding Notifications. When you click a Notification, you'll get the option to edit its schedule if it hasn't already been sent.
