Managing Website Banners

If you use an EzyStream website solution, you are often able to customise the banners which display on your homepage and some other media pages.

Your platform is able to show the following banner variations:

  • A banner which opens a media title (movie, season, or A/V series),
  • A banner which links to a page on your site,
  • A banner image which doesn't link to anything.

Your banners will cycle around on your page, in the order that you list them.

It is important to understand that adding banners is a two step process:

  1. Add the banner to your 'Banner Library'. These don't have to be active, but rather offer you a library of banners available to be added to a page within your website.
  2. Once a banner is in your library, you can activate it to your homepage, or other media pages active within your website.

To add a banner to your website

  1. Login to the EzyStream Dashboard,
  2. Browse to Manage and find 'Banners and Carousels',
  3. Click (plus) Banner
  4. Enter the information about your banner:
    1. Select the image you'd like to use (this should be 2000px wide, by 800px high. You can learn more about Platform Graphic Assets here).
    2. Select whether you would like your banner to feature a media title (movie, season or A/V series), or link to another page on your site).
    3. Select the dates you would like your banner to be active. This allows you to schedule banners to appear in the future, or disappear automatically. This date will be applied on every page that you activate the banner on.
    4. If you would like text to appear over your image, you can:
      1. Select the text placement/alignment,
      2.  Hide the text altogether,
      3. Enter the text that should show.
    5. You can also select whether you want your banner to link to your title or page when clicked, or be a static image.

Activate your banner onto a page

  1. Find the page you want your banner to appear on in the right hand 'Pages' column,
  2. Click the Orange 'Banner' button next to the page you want it active on,
  3. Select the banner that you just added to your library and click 'Add Banner'
  4. You can now drag and drop the active banners into the order you want them to rotate in.
  5. To de-activate a banner, click the x next to the title of the banner.
